The Bible is God talking to us. But we can also talk to God – it’s called prayer. God loves us, so He wants to listen to us, and the Bible tells us how we can pray according to His will. So read through these verses and learn how to talk to God!
The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.
You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him, he also hears their cry and saves them.
And the Lord said to him, I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me.
For the word of God is living and active.
Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.
You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness — and he was called a friend of God.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Jesus answered, It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
But truly God has listened, he has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
I am with you always.
