5 Views Of God

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

– Revelation 1:8

Omniscient

God is all knowing and that’s what the word omniscient means. Think about this; nothing has ever occurred to God and nothing’s ever dawned on God, and God is never surprised or caught off guard. God knows the end from the beginning and His prophets have written their prophecies, which are really history written backwards, so you can trust a God that knows everything.

Omnipresent

good that He would go away (John 16:7), because He could only be with the disciples in one place at a time in His flesh, but the Helper, or the Holy Spirit, would come on the Day of Pentecost, and He would live in every believer, and be eventually taken into the whole world as Christianity spread. Jesus could not have done that in the flesh, so I think that’s what Jesus meant when He said they will do “greater things” (John 14:12) that He.

Omnipotent

God only had to speak and the universe existed. He has that kind of power because His Word has potent power to it (Isaiah 55:11). Our words may have a little power, but circumstances can prevent us from keeping our word. Not so with God.

Without Beginning

Jesus declares in the Book of Revelation, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” which in the Greek language refers to the first and last letter of their alphabet. It would be like saying, Jesus is the A and Z and everything in between. He is more than the beginning, He is without beginning. He is infinite and has always existed as God…the One without end or beginning.

Without End

Everything in this physical universe had a beginning, but only God had no beginning and has always existed and prior to the universe, and He has no need of anything to exist…He is the Self-Existent One, or in the state of “Being.” At one time, we weren’t, then we were, but Jesus was, is and is yet to come. He is eternal and without beginning and without end.

Conclusion

My finite mind cannot comprehend eternity. I try to make a linear line of time, but it runs out…and yet, there is God…existing even before time. He is indescribable, but makes Himself knowable…and the best expression of the Father is in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, because if you’ve seen or read about Jesus, then you’ve really “seen” the Father (John 14:7-9).
