4 Reasons To Never Give Up On God

“Never put a question mark where God has put a period.”

– John R. Rice

Disappointment and Appointments

Some people take disappointments and make them God’s appointments. That’s making lemonade out of lemons. When our past troubles you, put it behind you and use it as a life lesson. The idea of questioning God is not new, so instead of saying “Why God?” say “What is it your trying to tell me God,” so we can use our disappointments as appointments from God

Comma and not a Period

Did you know that some of the heroes of the faith even contemplated suicide? Biblical heroes such as Elijah, Jonah, Moses, David, and Job wanted God to take them home, but God doesn’t want us to put a period where a comma can go. It’s not the end, even if it feels like it.

The Appointed Day

The Bible says, “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment” (Heb 9:27), so we have no business trying to speed that day up. God has appointed a day for us to die and after that the judgment comes, however the difference is that our sins were judged at the cross, while those who have rejected Christ will face the wrath of God.

The Rest of the Story

The old radio program, “The Rest of the Story” by the late Paul Harvey was always an interesting story. The unlikely people that struggled with things like we do should give us comfort knowing that we’re not alone in life’s struggles, so when the end seems near to you and you feel like giving up, wait upon God for the “rest of the story.”

Conclusion

If we place a comma or a period by what is happening in our life, we’ll not question what God’s doing. God always has our best in mind, even in the bad (Rom 8:28), so let’s not question God, let’s use a comma instead of a period, let’s wait for God’s appointed day and not make it our decision, and wait for the rest of the story to unfold.
