3 Ways To Make The World Better Through Prayer

“The more praying there is in the world, the better the world will be.”

– E.M. Bounds

Souls to be Saved

Do you have a heart for the lost? The Apostle Paul did and told the church at Rome, “Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved” (Rom 10:10). Is that our desire too? Many a godly mother has prayed for their son or daughter in prison only to see them come to saving faith, sometimes decades later, and we know it’s God’s will too that none would perish apart from Christ (2nd Pet 3:9) so that should be our will too and what we should be praying for.

Serving to be Done

I have had many people who have asked what they can do for God as far as where they should serve inside and outside of the church, but all I can do is to ask them if they know what their gift is and then use that gift for the purpose of building up the Body of Christ, the church. One lady in our church has the gift of administration but she never saw it in herself, so I pointed out how gifted she was in this and after praying about it, she found a place in the church where she could bless the church by her gift.

Submitting to God

Prayer is submitting to God. When we come to God in prayer, we’re acknowledging Him as our Lord and our God and that we are submitting to Him, and by doing so, try to make the world a better place as far as it’s possible with us. Even if it’s committing to something we don’t necessary like, if God has called us to that, we know that this is where God is pleased to use us. Pray that you are salt and light to a dead, decaying, and darkened world so that you might be used by God to bring some into the light; the Light of the World, Jesus Christ.

Conclusion

We can make the world a little bit better place by praying for souls to be saved; by serving to show the love of God; and to submit to God and His will, so as E.M. Bounds said, “The more praying there is in the world, the better the world will be.”
