3 Treasures Waiting in Heaven

“He who lays up treasures in heaven looks forward to eternity.”

Inheriting the Kingdom

Someday Jesus will say the most joyful words any believer could ever hear: “Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matt. 25:34). As the children of God, we are destined to inherit the kingdom of God and be kings and priests in the kingdom (Rev. 1:6), as God’s Word declares, “You have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth” (Rev. 5:10). If you invest in God’s kingdom on Earth, you’ll reap eternal treasures in heaven.

Rejoicing for Eternity

Can you imagine that very moment when you enter into eternity with God? The truth is that for those who have repented and put their trust in Christ, they already have eternal life. Even death is no barrier, as Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25), because just “as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself” (John 5:25). Jesus is so sure of this, He can say, “I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day” (John 6:39), and “all that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out” (John 6:37).

Jesus, Face to Face

Paul once wrote, “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known” (1 Cor. 13:12). Even in the Old Testament, Job knew that “after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God” (Job 19:26) because “whoever loves God is known by God” (1 Cor. 8:3). On the day of God’s visitation, “they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads” (Rev. 22:4). That day can’t get here soon enough for me! How about you?

Conclusion

Someday (soon?) we will inherit the kingdom of God, we will rejoice in our eternal life, and we will finally get to see what Jesus looks like, for we will finally see Him as He is.
