3 Reasons Trust to God

“Never put a question mark where God has put a period.”

– John R. Rice

No Question

How often I have heard people say that they want to end their life. What they forget is that God is not done with them yet. Where these people want to put a period, God intends it to be a comma. We can’t end our life just because it’s hard. Think of all those who suffered for Christ and today are in glory (Heb 11). Just reading Hebrews 11 should make you realize that we can’t put a question mark where God intends a period or comma.

No Commas

All too often, we get stuck in life and just stop dead in our tracks. It’s like we’re on a muddy road and we get stuck…but if we’ll just wait, the sun will come out and dry up the muddy road. We can’t put a period where God might want to put a comma. Our problems are not a dead end…they are an end to a means; God’s means. Trust Him.

Just Period

Today, why not resolve to trust God when you feel like questioning Him. Rather than putting a question mark out there and saying to God, “Why God?” we can put it like this; “What do you want me to learn from this God?” If we have humility like this, God will bless us by giving us His grace (James 4:6), and we’ll learn from our mistakes, and not end up putting a question mark where a period belongs.

Conclusion

cJohn Rice said, “Never put a question mark where God has put a period,” so try to remember to not question the goodness of God,” try to see our problems as a comma and not a period, and understand that God uses every single thing in our life to work out for our very best (Rom 8:28).
