Best 20 Bible Verses About Adam and Eve

It may be difficult to see how Adam and Eve sinning could bring glory to God.  You may even wonder why God made them in the first place if God knew ahead of time that they would fail.

God is omniscient and even though he knew that Adam and Eve would sin, He created them anyway and gave them the freewill to chose their path and that served God’s overall plan for creation.

5 stories from the Bible that relate to Adam and Eve

Here are 5 stories from the Bible that relate to Adam and Eve.

Breath of Life

We are all made of the dust of the ground, but then God puts His Spirit in us at conversion, and we are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), but originally “the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature” (Genesis 2:7).   We owe our very existence to God and our salvation to God through the Lord Jesus Christ Who not only breathed “the breath of life” into us, but He gave us His Spirit so that we are born again.

The Desire for Wisdom

What always looks good to the eye is not always good for the soul.  Our eyes can deceive us, just as Eve’s eye’s deceived her through the deception of the serpent.  It was “when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate” (Genesis 3:6).  Eve learned the hard way that everything that glitters is not gold.   It could be arsenic.

Be Fruitful

When God created Adam and Eve, His plan was to fill the earth with humanity, so in the beginning, “God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28).  Today, we’re more than filling the earth and mankind’s dominion over the creation has not been good, but a new heaven and a new earth are coming (Revelation 21:1-4), and the old shall pass away forever.

All Have Sinned

Sin entered the world through one man…and that man was Adam.  In the Garden, and at the fall of mankind, Eve was deceived, but the man sinned with his eyes wide open, “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned” (Romans 5:12).   Sin is contagious and all humanity is infected by it, but there is One Who can cleansed even the vilest of sinners, and His name is Jesus Christ.

The Image of God

God created mankind in His own image, but that image was marred by sin.  In the beginning, God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth” (Genesis 1:26). We have much of God’s nature in us, but we also have a sin nature in us, so God created man, He recreated him through Christ.

Mankind was not created with a sin nature.  That came after they disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, and mankind’s been disobeying God every since, but one way to live in obedience is to repent of your sins and put your trust in the New Adam, Jesus Christ.
