His Righteousness

No one can be in the presence of God unless they are made as righteous as Jesus Christ, but that’s just what happens when we repent and believe in the Lord.  The Apostle Paul said that it was “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).  Without the righteousness of the Son, you cannot be in the presence of the Holy Father. Thankfully, that is possible through trusting in Christ.

His Gospel

The timing seems to be when John the Baptist ends His ministry (Mark 1:15), Jesus begins His, and what is His message?  The Gospel!  He says, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:16). John had prepared the way as a voice crying in the wilderness, so that was fulfilled, and now Jesus came saying that the kingdom of God is at hand, but it came with the need for repentance and faith in the Son of God.

His Wrath

People won’t know that they need to repent unless they hear that the wages they’ve earned for their sins is death (Romans 6:23), and we all need forgiveness since all of us have sinned (Romans 3:23), but Jesus took upon Himself our sins so that we might be rescued from the righteous wrath of God.  If you’ve repented and believed the Gospel, then you can read and believe that “God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 6:9).

His Ransom

All too often, the disciples had argued about who would be the greatest in the coming kingdom, but Jesus was not happy with them. He said that “even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for man” (Mark 10:45).  They were worried about who would have the most servants but it was more important to know about how many they would serve.

His Kingdom

Perhaps one of the most inspiring Bible verses in the Bible is where God comforts His people after they finally enter the kingdom.  In the Book of Revelation is says that God “will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).  There will be no room for suffering, pain, sorrow, tears, and death in the kingdom to come. Pray for that kingdom to come.
