5 Stories From The Bible For A Love Letter

Here are 5 stories from the Bible for a love letter.

Love Endures

If someone is truly in love, they can endure a lot of things.  The Apostle Paul wrote, “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7). Love bears with one another and bears one another’s burdens’ love believes all things, or it believes the best about people and gives them the benefit of the doubt; love hopes for the best and lives like it; and love endures everything that life throws at them.  Love never ends…it always endures.

Love Never Ends

When love is birthed between two human souls, it is possible that it will never end.  The Bible teaches that “Love never ends” (1 Corinthians 13:8a).  We know that God’s love never ends for us.  Aren’t we glad that God is not like us where He changes His mind about people?  God is ever faithful, even unto the end, and that’s the hope we should have for every relationship; that love would never end.

God is Love

Since God is love and He dwells in believers, we should also love other believers, but we’re even told to love our enemies (Luke 6:27).  In time, believers begin to love others more naturally and it gets easier.  Why?  It’s because “we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” (1 John 4:16).  Love is how Jesus said others will know we’re His disciples (John 13:34-35).

A Greater Love

I believe most spouses would die for their spouse, if given the choice between them and their mate.  Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).  We may not have to lay down our physical life for our friend, but we can lay down our time, talents, and treasure for them.  It may not mean dying for someone, but dying-to-self for someone or for others.

Love is a Verb

I don’t believe love is just a greeting card, a birthday gift, or even saying “I love you.”  Of course, we should tell the people we love that we do love them, but actions are considerably louder than words.  Our actions (or in-actions) may be drowning out our “I love you’s.”  Love is a verb more than an adjective or noun.  It’s what you do that shows your love, because “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal” (1 Corinthians 13:1).  Talk is cheap. Action takes effort and forethought.  Jesus’ dying on the cross is tangible evidence of God’s love, therefore, love is a verb…it is what you do…it is what He did (John 3:16).
