201 Dwight L. Moody Quotes

D.L. Moody started attending church at the age of 17 and later became a Christian at the age of 18. Not much later than that, he moved to Chicago. Three years later he started a Sunday School in the poor part of Chicago. That later turned into Illinois Street Independent Church, which is now known as Moody Memorial Church. The Great Chicago Fire destroyed his home, church, and YMCA. While traveling to raise funds to rebuild the church he decided to move back and concentrate on evangelism. He spent the rest of his life traveling thru the US and Europe, preaching and singing in front of large crowds.

I now opened my Bible and began to study, and faith has been growing ever since.

What can botanists tell you of the lily of the valley? You must study this book for that. What can geologists tell you of the Rock of Ages, or mere astronomers about the Bright Morning Star? In those pages we find all knowledge unto salvation; here we read of the ruin of man by nature, redemption by the blood, and regeneration by the Holy Ghost. These three things run all through and through them.

Some day you will read in the papers that D.L. Moody of East Northfield, is dead. Don't you believe a word of it!
