– Revelation 2:10
It’s From Him
The first thing we should acknowledge about our salvation is that it’s all from God. We would still be dead in our sins (Eph 2:1) without God quickening us by His Spirit, just as Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. I know Jesus never asked Lazarus’ opinion. If we are faithful, we will give God the glory for our salvation, and indeed, everyone who’s trusted in Christ, because it’s all from Him and because of Him.
It’s Through Him
The Apostle John wrote of Jesus, that “All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3), so even our life is from Jesus, and it is only through Him we can be saved (Acts 4:12). The Father sent Him “to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him” (John 1:7), but tragically, even though “the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him” (John 1:10).
It’s For Him
The Apostle Paul explains why everything was made, and that includes you and me. He wrote, “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him” (Col 1:16). This sums up all three points! All things are from Him, all things come through Him, and all things are for Him, and that means, they are all for His glory.
Conclusion
Death is not a period…it’s a comma, and it’s only the beginning for us as we enter the presence of the Lord. Jesus promised, “Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25), so let us glorify God in our lives, even if it’s at our own expense. There’s a crown awaiting the other side of the veil.
