3 Reasons The Devil Won’t Ignore You

“The devil doesn’t persecute those who aren’t making a godly difference in the world.”

In Enemy Territory

If you think Satan’s going to just let us waltz into our communities with the gospel, we don’t understand that we’re entering enemy territory. Think of it this way; we are going into the darkness to bring the light to others, and them bring those in darkness into the light, which is Christ. I recommend putting on the armor of God because we’re going to be under spiritual attack (Eph 6:12) and need all the help we can being behind the lines.

Growing in Holiness

When you overcome a major sin or begin to grow in holiness, which is what sanctification is, the enemy’s not going to like that. We will never reach perfection this side of the kingdom, but that’s no reason not to live a life that pleases God. We owe everything to God because He quickened us while still dead in our sins and still having no hope in Christ (Eph 2:1), so when you begin to overcome some of those besetting sins in your life, the Devil may ramp up his attacks on you.

Great Accomplishment

The times when Christians are more vulnerable than they think they are and it usually comes right after a great success. Many men and women who reached great heights, like becoming a best-selling author, begin to believe their own stuff. They begin to let the accomplishment be theirs and not God’s, however God must receive the glory (Psalm 115:1), because we can do anything without Christ (John 15:5), and only through Him can we do anything (Phil 4:13). We all need to guard our hearts and protect them from pride, because great accomplishments can be used by the Devil or demons to inflate our ego.

Conclusion

I actually think it’s more accurate for most of us to say we’re under demonic attack because Satan is not omnipresent. He can only be in one place at a time as a created being. He is limited, but there are untold demons that do his dirty work, so if you are witnessing for Christ, growing in Christ, and accomplishing great things through Christ, you’re a marked person, but with the armor of God, you should be just fine.
