3 Reasons Jesus Is The Only Way

“I am the way and the truth and the life.”

– John 14:6

He is the Way

Some Christians have asked my why many are not going to be saved (Matt 7:21-23), and all I can say is that it’s not amazing that only a few are saved, but that anyone is! It’s not so amazing that there is only one way to the Father, but that there is any way at all to the Father. The Apostle Peter said, “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). There is no other name given to us that we “must be saved,” meaning we must come to the Father only through Jesus (John 6:44) because there’s simply no other way possible to be saved.

He is the Truth

Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). He is not one of many ways or one way among many, but He is the one and only way we can be saved. The Apostle John, in writing about Jesus, said of Him, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). His grace was made evident on the cross, and His truth is made evident by what He spoke.

He is the Life

Jesus alone can bring us eternal life. Not Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius, or any other man or manmade religion. Those men are dead and in their grave, but not Jesus, because the grave couldn’t hold the Son of God since He was sinless. The wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23), and since Jesus never sinned, He could not stay dead. Besides, He is God, and God cannot die. That’s because “God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it” (Acts 2:24).

Conclusion

Jesus is the way. Jesus is the truth. Jesus is life. Without Jesus, there is no way to be saved, there is no truth to be found, and there is no eternal life, but Jesus promised, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this” (John 11:25-26)?
