30 Bible Verses About Laban

Laban was the son of Bethuel and Milcah and brother to Rebekah. He was Isaac’s cousin, and later he became Isaac’s brother-in-law after Rebekah’s marriage to Isaac. Laban was also the father-in-law and uncle to Jacob through marriage to Leah and Rachel.

Laban welcomed his nephew, Jacob, as a young man, and set the stipulation that he had to work for seven years before he was allowed to marry his daughter Rachel. However, Laban tricked Jacob into marrying his elder daughter Leah instead. This made Jacob very upset as he was in love with Rachel and so Laban also allowed him to marry Rachel as well.  The Bible goes on about the life of Laban and how Jacob and his family left him.
