Mother Teresa Quote – Always Be Moving Forward

“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”

– Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa Moving Forward Quote Commentary

If you believe in Jesus and have accepted him as your personal Lord and Savior, you are definitely on the right track. The problem is, ask Mother Theresa succinctly put it, if you stay there, you’ll ‘get run over.’ If your faith doesn’t grow and bear fruit both in your life and the lives of the people around you, you might get run over by the cares and worries of the world. It is not uncommon for new Christians or Christians who have achieved a renewed and heightened understanding of Jesus Christ to find themselves challenged because of their renewed faith. The Devil hates it when we draw closer to Christ. Nothing makes him more furious than people seeking the Lord and drawing closer to God. As a result, the Devil sends a tsunami of trouble your way. The good news is that if you abide in Jesus and you let his power drive you, you can stand your ground. As the apostle James wrote, resist the Devil and he will flee. The problem is that we too often try to resist based on our own power which is no power at all. Only abiding in Jesus will suffice.

Faith is a gateway

Renewing your faith or placing your faith in Jesus is just the first step. You have to abide in Him. You have to fully trust him. Otherwise, you will get run over in one form of the other. The world is not compatible with faith. You can only serve one master. As Jesus himself said, either you end up loving one and hating the other or you hate one and love the other. You cannot have one foot in heaven and another foot in the world. This is why simply being ‘on the right track’ is never enough. Simply knowing bible truth is not enough. Jesus doesn’t want baby steps. He doesn’t want just a percentage of your total being and trust. He wants the whole thing. He wants one hundred percent.

This Puts Most of us in a Pickle

This pushes many of us to fully decide. Sadly, many of us would rather be tentative. In other words, in keeping with Mother Theresa’s observation, we sit on the tracks, unable to move forward or backward. When you are frozen, you will get run over. As said by God in Revelation, there will come a time where you will have to make a choice-the way of the world or God’s way. The world will punish you for deciding for God and God will punish those who choose the world. There will be a time where ‘middle ground’ solutions no longer work. Make the decision to go all the way with Christ starting today.
