3 Ways God Makes The Impossible, Possible

“Prayer alone will overcome the gigantic difficulties.”

– John R. Mott

God Rules His Creation

When Jesus rebuked the storm, the storm had no other choice but to be still, because Jesus, as God, has authority over all nature and must obey His command. God can do what He pleases in His creation and is not limited by gravity, time, force, and space like we are. God is God, and we can trust Him even when our eyes tell us differently. Jeremiah saw enough evidence of the omnipotent (all-powerful God) that he could proclaim, “Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you” (Jer 32:17).

For those that Believe

When a father brought his demon possessed son to Jesus, he asked Him for help. Jesus told this father, “All things are possible for one who believes” (Mark 9:23), but these “all things” must be part of God’s will, for He never does anything contrary or outside of His perfect will. All things are possible, if you will believe, but this doesn’t mean that all things we ask for are possible. God always knows what’s best for us…even better than we do.

Mission Possible

When a rich ruler walked away from Christ because he had much wealth, Jesus told His disciples that “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:25). Did this mean that rich people can’t enter the kingdom of heaven? No, because Abraham, Job, and many others had wealth, yet they will be in the kingdom. When Jesus’ disciples asked Him, “then who can be saved?” [Jesus said], “What is impossible with man is possible with God” (Luke 18:26b-27). Things might look impossible for us, but not for God.

Conclusion

Mr. Mott said “Prayer alone will overcome the gigantic difficulties,” because they’re not gigantic to God. Everything’s small to God; even the universe itself. If our problems are big, then our God is too small. Remember God is so big, compared to Him, everything is small.
