4 Reasons Not To Fear Satan

“Fear is born of Satan. “

He’s Defeated

When Jesus was about to go to the cross, He spoke as if Satan was already defeated, and he really was. Jesus said, “Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out” (John 12:31), and even though “the ruler of this world is coming…he has no claim on me” (John 14:30). That’s “because the prince of this world already stands condemned” (John 16:11).

Under God’s Sovereignty

Even the Devil is God’s Devil, so said Martin Luther, and this is supported in Scripture. Satan can do no more than God allows, as in the case of Job, where Satan wanted to show God that Job only served God because he was blessed. We know this isn’t true, but remember Satan’s a liar and always has been. The only time you can believe Satan is when he says he’s a liar. Satan wanted to test Job, so “the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord” (Job 1:12). Satan could harass Job, but not take his life. God puts limits on Satan.

Greater is He that’s in Us

When we fear the enemy, we know this isn’t from God because the Apostle John wrote, “you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1st John 4:4). Satan is not greater than God, because God created him, so greater is the God Who lives in us than the little “g” god who is of the world (2nd Cor 4:4).

No Condemnation

Don’t believe the lies that you stand condemned by some sin you fell into. That’s a lie straight from the pit of hell. The Bible teaches that “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Rom 8:1). Since there’s no condemnation for the children of God, don’t let your feelings fool you into believe you are.

Conclusion

Satan is a liar and he will try to do all he can to put fear, doubt, and worry in your mind to rob you of your joy and make silence your witness for Christ. If we fell condemned, it’s not from God, but from the enemy. Remember, he’s already condemned, but the children of God are no longer under condemnation. Will you believe God’s Word…or will you believe your feelings?
